Our Dog and Cat Surgery Services
Depending on the circumstances, your pet may only need to undergo surgery once in their life. However, our advanced surgical equipment and tools allow us to perform many services, including:
- Spaying and neutering
- Mass removals
- Oral surgery
- Reconstructive surgery
- Wound repair
- Hematoma repair
- Foreign body removals
- Cystotomies
- Anal gland removal (anal sacculectomy)
Safety Measures
Prior to any surgery, we perform pre-anesthetic blood work to assess organ function and check for underlying health problems that could put our patient at risk if anesthetized. Should we discover any such problems, surgery will be postponed until the problem is corrected. Minimizing risk is our top priority.
To ensure our patient’s safety and comfort, we monitor several vital signs throughout the procedure. We utilize pulse oximetry to assess the oxygen saturation of the blood. Additionally, an EKG helps us detect any abnormalities in the electrical activity of the heart. Our technician also monitors blood pressure and temperature. To keep pets warm during their surgery, we use fluid warmers and pet-safe warming devices. Following surgery, we can perform laser therapy on some of our recovering patients to reduce pain and inflammation.
